We’ve had a mini-camp on weekends for the last two weeks. The first week was for teenagers and young adults. We started by having lunch with all the students. 80 people were divided into 8 groups. The first four groups did a scavenger hunt. They had maps that contained 4 points for their quest: Doubt, Fear, Bad Habits, and Pride. At each point, there was a local teacher who communicated with the teams. They completed tasks, and in the end, received a verse from the Bible. During this time, the other four teams were at master classes. We prepared 4 master classes: Hand-making a postcard, Working with plasticine, Mosaic of beads, and Weaving a bracelet. Each team could attend two master classes. Both classes amounted to an hour. After this, the first 4 teams went to needlework, and the others went on the quest. At the end of the day, we summed up the results and held a lottery.
Everyone received a surprise gift! Whether it was sunglasses, a lifebuoy, candy, spicy seasoning, badges, or soap, there was a lot of excitement around it. The glasses and seasoning were very popular pickings but everyone was happy.
In the second week, we replicated the scavenger hunt with the children. Several master classes were different, but the gifts were the same. Thank God everything went well! We worked with the locals as one big team.
In the evening we had a tea party and presented gifts to the teachers. We’ve had a wonderful time together:)
