Hello, everyone! I am Ksenia. My niece, Polina, and I flew to Rwanda at the beginning of
February this year. It is my third trip and the longest I have been here. The last two times, I flew
here for three months, and this time I decided to stay here for a year.
I would love to share where I devote time when I am here. I conduct sewing classes since my
professions are design and tailoring.
At the end of last year, GHH was granted a license to open a professional sewing school. At
the beginning of 2022, the first group of students graduated from our TVET. There are 11 girls
and two local teachers in the group. I conduct master classes with them three times a week.
They already sew clothes, and I am helping them improve the quality of their products. I explain
the fundamentals of design and sewing, teach them to make everything beautifully, and show
them various techniques in practice. I advise them what needs to be changed, as they are
hungry to learn. I recently conducted a test and saw that everyone’s skills are improving. The
progress is noteable!
All my students are funny, kind, and responsive. They are always happy to see me and
express it in different ways. I am happy to be here and help local people with the gift I have. I
believe that they will succeed!
