While my children and I are in Rwanda, my 4-year-old daughter, Francesca Rosabella, goes to a kindergarten in Bwishyura. Like all children, she finished the first quarter and received her first graduation certificate. Since Francesca knows English, it was easy for her to adapt. Despite having new subjects, she is actively mastering Kinyarwanda and French.
This kindergarten is noticeably different from the one she goes to in Moscow. The teachers here work with children from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm. Children study sitting at their desks and take subjects that in Russia begin to be taught in preparatory classes for school or in the first grade of a secondary school. She already has a Rwandan friend, and they play between their classes.
